Acai is a berry from the Amazon rainforest region that provides cardio-protective benefits to the body. You can probably find acai powder in any local store – it’s getting pretty popular these days. Think of it like a concentrated berry powder, rich in nutrients – so you only use a little bit at a time! A smoothie bowl like this gives an excellent way to enjoy refreshing fruit – and it’s a little tangy too, which is why we love it!
Have you used acai powder? What do you like to do with it? Talk with me below, please!
I created this recipe for @Albertsons @Safeway. Enjoy!
Ingredients
1 small frozen banana
2 teaspoons acai powder
1/2 cup fresh or frozen raspberries
1 tablespoon lime zest
1 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk
toppings:
lime slices
fresh blueberries
sliced bananas
coconut
sprinkle acai powder
Preparation
1. In a blender combine all smoothie ingredients until smooth and creamy. If needed, add another splash of almond milk to smooth out the smoothie a bit.
2. Pour into a bowl, and add any combinations of toppings you like. We love it with fresh blueberries, hemp hearts, lime slices for a burst of color and tang, and another sprinkle of acai powder.
