Frosted Blueberry Lemonade Smoothie

Blueberries are packages with brain-boosting nutrients. There are several studies going on testing how their anthocyanins (the blue-purple pigment in the skin of the blueberries) can improve memory function, and slows brain aging. They benefit not only the brain, but the nervous system as well. This is a pretty wonderful little fruit! So this smoothie – although not containing much protein, you could add a scoop of protein powder – is a delicious and refreshing drink, tasting just like a frozen lemonade – only with blueberries! If you cannot get coconut water, feel free to use regular water. It will still have plenty of flavor. Enjoy!

Ingredients

1 cup coconut water
2 cups frozen blueberries
zest of 1 lemon plus juice of 1/2
1 small frozen ripe banana
1 cup sweet green grapes

Fruit as dessert

Preparation

1. Blend all ingredients! If smoothie needs to be thinned out, add another splash of liquid. Top it with a little more lemon zest if you like the extra lemon-kick. We sure do! Enjoy!
