Peanuts are a great plant source of CoQ10 – which is used in your mitochondria to power your metabolism. This is a delicious smoothie that uses PB2 – powdered peanut butter. Powdered peanut butter is defatted peanut butter, so there’s no significant source of fats. Not that I’m EVER against the healthy fat in peanut butter, but sometimes it’s nice to have the PB flavor and protein, and then get the healthy fat from another source, like the unsweetened cashew butter in this protein shake. Cashew butter gives it that “cookie bomb” status:)
Ingredients
4 ounces unsweetened Almond Milk
2 tbsp PB2 (powdered peanut butter)
2 tsp raw cocoa powder
1/2 ripe banana, frozen
1 tbsp unsweetened cashew butter
1 scoop chocolate protein powder
Preparation
Everything goes into a high-powered blender and pulse until it’s fully combined.
Where do you buy Pb2? Is there a brand you recommend? The smoothie looks delicious! Thanks

Thank you for replying, Lisa! Do you use PB2 much?
Hi Cathy! Lisa is right. You can get it just about anywhere these days. Look for it next to the traditional peanut butters. PB2 is a brand itself that is excellent!
Would this totally flop w/o protein powder or just not pack as satisfying of a punch?
Great question Beth – it would still be great. I use it to add another layer of chocolate flavor, plus the sustaining power of the protein. I think it would still TASTE great…just make sure your frozen banana is extra ripe. The protein powder usually adds a little sweetness (the one I use has stevia to sweeten it); so it would just taste a little less sweet. Let me know how it turns out for you!
